Ordinary TimeMemorial

Saints Cornelius, Pope, and Cyprian, Bishop, Martyrs

Today the Church keeps a memorial of holy witnesses to Christ. Remembering the saints gives thanks for His grace at work in human lives and asks their intercession for our own fidelity. Hear the Word of God, offer the duties of your vocation, and ask Mary to form in you the generous love that bears fruit in holiness.

A mystery, a grace, and a virtue

Rosary · Read with the saints

After having invoked the Holy Spirit, in order to properly recite your Rosary, place yourself for a moment in the presence of God and make the offerings of the decades, as you will see hereafter. Before beginning the decade, pause for a moment, more or less, according to your leisure, to consider the mystery that you are celebrating by the decade, and always ask, through this mystery and the intercession of the Blessed Virgin, one of the virtues that shine most brightly in this mystery or of which you will have the greatest need.

St. Louis de Montfort · The Secret of the Rosary, Forty-fourth Rose · excerpt

Make this prayer your own

We pray to You, Lord Jesus, by the fifteen mysteries of Your life, death, Passion, and glory, and the merits of Your holy Mother, to convert sinners, to aid the dying, to deliver the souls in purgatory, and to give us all Your grace to live well and die well, and Your glory to see You face to face and to love You throughout eternity. Amen.

One faithful act

Before each decade, consider its mystery and ask for the virtue you most need.
