Five devotions. One Marian rule of life.
CROSS gives Mary a definite claim on the whole person. It is not the sum of every Marian devotion, but a strong rule by which consecration governs identity, the Rosary forms prayer, suffering becomes intercession, the Scapular seals belonging, and the First Saturdays make reparation. Do not merely compare the five. Enter them.
C · Consecration
Belong completely to Jesus through Mary.
Consecration gives Mary a free hand in the soul so that she may form it more perfectly in the likeness of her Son.
R · Rosary
Sit at the school of Mary.
The Rosary places the Gospel in our hands and trains the eyes of the heart to contemplate Jesus with Mary.
O · Offering
Bear your cross with Mary.
Placed in Mary’s hands and united to the Cross of Christ, suffering becomes an offering of love for sinners and the Church.
S · Scapular
Wear the habit of Mary.
The Brown Scapular is Mary’s small habit: a sign of belonging beneath her mantle, her protection in life and at death, and the grace of final perseverance.
S · First Saturdays
Console the Immaculate Heart.
For five consecutive first Saturdays, receive the sacraments and keep Mary company in reparation for sins against her Immaculate Heart.
Keep company with Our Lady of Sorrows.
Learn the devotion and pray the traditional Servite chaplet.
